A divine place where Brahma sat for penance, a pond hiding a thousand sages and pristine beaches inviting you to experience a spiritual experience. Koteshwara has many stories to tell and a grand history. Standing majestically with its inspiring coastal temple architecture and grandeur, the temple is easily recognizable from a distance as one walks down the temple street.

The temple compound is divided into two parts — the inner core and the outer periphery. The main temple structure situated in the middle forms the inner core. This sanctuary in Kotilingeshwara Temple is said to have seven Prakara.

The peripheral prakara is currently a solid street and the sanctuary has got entryways on all the four sides. There is a 10’*10′ stage extremely outside of the sanctuary, prompting the principle entrance. One can see the divinity directly from this stage.

There are eleven small temples constructed within the premises for various deities. A water tank is set up close to the Linga, used by the devotees to perform Abhisheka.
