This unique zero energy, the eco-friendly mosque is situated at Kodi village in Kundapur Taluk of Udupi district. An “L” shaped building plan, an elevated prayer hall, green vegetation and water tanks around it offer a naturally cooled ambiance.

Besides, solar heat reflecting terrace floor lined with white china mosaics, and fitted with turbo vents keep the prayer space cool and also reduce warming of local micro climate. And, the natural cooling of the building is augmented by the wind scoop on 70 feet multifunctional minaret which forces down a draft of cool breeze into the prayer hall and also supports the tower structure of the wind turbine mounted atop it.

“It is our small contribution to India’s march towards sustainable development,” says Syed Mohamed Beary of Beary’s Group, about the ‘green mosque.’ The Mosque is a short travel away from the Kundapura Rural Ayurveda College and Hospital.
